Res Artis Meeting Tehran, Iran, 2016
The first Res Artis Meeting in the Middle East hosted by Kooshk Residency in Tehran, Iran from November 21-25. The meeting will take place under the title “Roots and Routes: Challenges and Opportunities of Connectivity”.
Through a number of panels, roundtable discussions and workshops sessions, the meeting will address the different interpretations and inherent implications history and traditions bear for residency spaces as well as shedding light on the importance of artists’ pathways and connectivity of residencies. Against the backdrop of the cultural landscape in Iran and its placement in the wider region, participants can contextualize and discuss different approaches to artist residencies as well as topics like sustainability and funding with regard to their own region.
As an international, nonpolitical, autonomous initiative, Rybon Art Center aims to promote innovation and experimentation of art among established and emerging artists and to explore the possibilities of exchanging ideas and knowledge across ethnic, regional and artistic borders.
